Great atmosphere here. Dining with my wife just the 2 of us without kids. Foods and drinks were great. We like the hot chicken, fried calamari, and some of the cocktail as well. Great place for people to hang out during the weekend.

I love Vinos. It's such a chill atmosphere. The bar tenders are lovely humans. The food is great and the drinks are superb. I always enjoy my visits and look forward to returning again. They have some unique cocktails. One of my favorites is Lovers in Japan, which is a Japanese twist on a whisky sour (I think). The servers are very patient and helpful in explaining their wines to newbies like me. And I've learned a bit.

Quaint venue owned by Charlie's Trio. Cute alley seating as well with hanging lights through the space. It's definitely a little gem you would not expect to find hidden in Alhambra.

I made a reservation for a company happy hour with 20 people and Vino’s provided well!! I made the reservation about a month and a half in advance. They kept my reservation and even accommodated when I had to add 3 more seats. I really appreciate their flexibility! The drinks here are sooo delicious! Happy hour is 4-6pm. I got the mango sorbet drink and it was sooo good and they provide a spoon to eat the sorbet with too :0) I also tried the peach cream drink and it was also amazing! Sangrias looked so tasty too We ordered the cheese board and some pizzas and garlic fries! Garlic fries were my favorite mostly because of the delicious garlic aioli sauce they had I loved it so much, i ate it with my pizza crust as well! They had huge umbrellas outside to shade you from the sun. It worked out well and there was a fan. However, some of us got Mosquito bites so beware when you sit outside! Service was good and they did their best with the amount of people we had!

Sunday was my very first time coming to Vino’s. My friends had been before several times. Finally, we were all able to come together and enjoy Sunday’s ALL DAY HAPPY HOUR. Business opens at 3:00pm. Keep in mind, my prices listed below are the HAPPY HOUR PRICES. Still, even without happy hour pricing, Vino’s is still a bargain. Our Bartender/staff member was beyond helpful and knowledgeable of all things on the menu. She made a few recommendations as far as food (sad I don’t have pictures). She was very friendly and helpful during our time at Vino’s. They have definitely gained another frequent customer. Food and beverages were all delicious. Great place! —— Breakdown of drinks below —— Vino Sorbet Cocktail 5.00 *choice of Fosselman’s seasonal sorbet, Prosecco. Pomegranate Cooler 6.00 *Pomegranate juice, house rosemary simple syrup, Prosecco. Aperol Spritz 5.00 *Aperol liqueur, Prosecco, orange peel essence. Summer Vacation Wine Flight (2oz each glass) 10 1. 2016 Vom Spitz Weishrieshing Burgenland, Austria 2. 2018 Jean Vullian & Fils Rousette Savoie, France 3. 2017 Filippo Gullino Roero Arneis Piedmont, Italy —— Breakdown of Food (no pictures sadly) —— I would like to mention that even though it was a happy hour menu, they were not greedy with their portions. Usually, restaurants give you small portions on the account it is happy hour. This is not the case here at Vino’s. Food was very delicious. My only regret was not ordering more items off the menu. 1. Mac and Cheeses 9.00 2. Calamari 9.00 3. Amanti Della Carne Pizza 10.00 —— I highly recommend!

Location

Welcome to Vino's Back Alley, a hidden gem nestled in the heart of Alhambra, California. Located at 10 N 1st St, this charming venue combines an intimate atmosphere with a diverse culinary menu that is sure to impress the most discerning palates. With its quaint alley seating draped in twinkling lights, Vino's presents a perfect escape for both casual diners and intimate gatherings.

As a food reviewer, my experience at Vino's was nothing short of delightful. The menu features a tantalizing array of share plates and handcrafted pizzas that showcase a fusion of seasonal ingredients and classic flavors. One standout dish was the Grilled Fruiti De Mar—a delightful mix of pei mussels, manila clams, and shrimp served over fragrant saffron risotto with a hint of smoked paprika aioli, priced at $13. The balance of oceanic freshness and creamy richness was a highlight.

  • Dried Fig & Pear Salad - An exquisite choice at $10, combining mesclun greens, shallots, and candied walnuts, drizzled with sherry vinaigrette and balsamic reduction.
  • Espresso Lamb Lollipops - These savory bites for $19, paired with bourbon BBQ sauce and shoestring buttermilk onions, were a symphony of flavor that left me craving more.
  • Handcrafted Pizzas - I couldn’t resist trying the Prosciutto La Quercia, a wonderful medley of rich flavors, topped with garlic, burrata cheese, and wild arugula for just $12.

Vino's also serves up a delightful Weekly Special that changes regularly, giving guests something new to look forward to. This week, I had the pleasure of sampling the Cajun Rib Eye. Grilled to perfection and rubbed with a blend of cajun spices, this rib eye was a true showstopper at $20—packed with flavor and served alongside creamy mashed potatoes and fresh green beans.

What sets Vino's Back Alley apart is not only the food but also the atmosphere and service. Patrons rave about the attentive staff, who take the time to guide you through their extensive wine list and craft cocktails like the Lovers in Japan, a unique whiskey sour reminiscent of Japan’s own delightful flavors. The warm ambiance creates a perfect backdrop for memorable evenings with friends or special occasions.

As echoed by guests like HaRi Kim, the intimate vibes and quality offerings make Vino's a must-visit. Whether you're here for a cozy date night or a lively happy hour, Vino's Back Alley encapsulates everything we love about dining out—great food, memorable drinks, and an inviting space to unwind. I left feeling satisfied, eager to return, and with a newfound appreciation for this lovely enclave tucked away in Alhambra.
